through road between Orford and the Tasman Peninsula)
The east coast of Tasmania is home to golden beaches and scenic
fishing villages. Visit Bicheno, Swansea and Orford. Taste the
magnificent seafood the area is famous for as well as its dairy and
meat products.
If your interest is in scuba diving make Wind Song B&B your base for
exploring the Maria Island Marine Reserve and the Troy D artificial
dive site adjacent to the reserve. The marine reserve is a fabulous
place for snorkelling and scuba diving.

Visit award-winning vineyards such as Milton, Freycinet, Apsley
Gorge, Craigie Knowe, Springvale and Darlington.
Don't forget Scorchers at Orford for their wood fired pizzas or
Kate's Berry Farm at Swansea for delicious berry ice creams and
other treats. The Ugly Duck Out, also at Swansea has a long liqueur
coffee menu and 13 types of schnapps.
This part of Tasmania's east coast has a long history of European
farmers, soldiers and convicts dating back to the 1820s. There is
plenty of history around, including Spiky Bridge built by convict
labour in 1840's.
Sea fishing, bream fishing and the lakes of the Eastern Tiers are
nearby. Go mountain bike riding, bike hire can be arranged, the East
Coast is a popular tour for local and interstate bike riders.
At the end of the day relax with plenty of books to read and enjoy a
delicious dinner from our kitchen or "gourmet under the stars".
