The east coast of Tasmania is home to golden beaches and scenic fishing villages. Visit Bicheno, Swansea and Orford. Taste the magnificent seafood the area is famous for as well as its dairy and meat products.

Visit award-winning vineyards such as Milton, Freycinet, Apsley Gorge, Craigie Knowe, Springvale and Darlington.

Don't forget Scorchers at Orford for their wood fired pizzas or Kate's Berry Farm at Swansea for delicious berry ice creams and other treats. The Ugly Duck Out, also at Swansea has a long liqueur coffee menu and 13 types of schnapps.

This part of Tasmania's east coast has a long history of European farmers, soldiers and convicts dating back to the 1820s. There is plenty of history around, including Spiky Bridge built by convict labour in 1840's.

Sea fishing, bream fishing and the lakes of the Eastern Tiers are nearby. Go mountain bike riding, bike hire can be arranged, the East Coast is a popular tour for local and interstate bike riders.

At the end of the day relax with plenty of books to read and enjoy a delicious dinner from our kitchen or "gourmet under the stars".
